For months now, rumors have flown about New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s failures to handle the coronavirus pandemic well, including his now-infamous decision to hand over known positive COVID cases to nursing homes, effectively spreading the disease to the state’s most vulnerable and killing off over 6,000 of them.

Of course, as with everything else, Cuomo and his office did a fairly good job of covering it all up – at least for a time.

But as the rumors continued, more and more allegations of his treachery came out until a federal investigation was finally launched. It was determined by this investigation that Cuomo had his office publicly lie and fudge numbers on paperwork to hide his errors in judgment.

Naturally, there have been demands for his resignation or impeachment since then.

Perhaps this is why former Cuomo aide, Lindsey Boylan, chose this time to come out with allegations of her own – but of a decidedly different nature.

In a Medium essay, Boylan describes several instances where Cuomo sexually harassed her, making inappropriate remarks and suggestions.

One instance tells of a plane trip she and the governor took, where the two were sitting across from one another and in the presence of a press aide and a state trooper. According to Boylan, Cuomo joked that they “play strip poker” to occupy their time.

Boylan claims that the entire atmosphere in his office was conducive to this kind of behavior. She says that “sexual harassment” and “bullying” were “not only condoned but expected.”

And, according to her, Cuomo used his sexual harassment as a prize or way to praise a woman when she was doing a good job at work.

“His inappropriate behavior toward women was an affirmation that he liked you, that you must be doing something right. He used intimidation to silence his critics. And if you dared to speak up, you would face consequences.”

And Boylan was not the only one who saw it.

In the past several months, several have come forward with claims that Cuomo used bullying often in his office, making sure to belittle his staff members whenever he felt he’d been wronged or was unhappy.

New York Assemblyman Ron Kim is one that can attest to this.

Recently, while on a phone call with the liberal governor, Cuomo allegedly verbally attacked him, saying, “You will be destroyed. You have not seen my wrath. I have been biting my tongue for months.”

Of course, Cuomo and his office is denying any and all allegations.

His current press secretary Caitlin Girouard called them “simply false” in a statement made on Wednesday, in which she claims to have proof that Boylan is making it all up. However, as we already know from the nursing home scandal, Cuomo’s office is really good at making up evidence to suit his needs.

Now, you’d think allegations of this sort would bring in the press for miles and miles around.

I mean, do you remember when Stormy Daniels claimed to have been assaulted by then-presidential candidate Donald Trump? Or what about when Christine Blasey-Ford said then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh harassed her?

The media went wild, backing both women and claiming that every woman with similar claims should be listened to and believed. It created an entire national movement.

And yet, according to Grabien, a multimedia news information bank, not one of the five major networks (CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, and MSNBC) have even remotely covered the allegations against Cuomo, per a report from Fox News.

You know, much like they didn’t report much of anything when similarly toned allegations were made against the then-presidential candidate and known flirt, Joe Biden. Or when numerous criminal allegations were made against Biden’s son, Hunter.

If it seems a little confusing, you’re not alone in those thoughts.

Then again, it doesn’t take much to see that this is all a political game to them. They will create whatever narrative makes the most sense for their party and/or supported candidates. Anything else will simply be ignored, if not denied completely.

Of course, in this case, I’m not sure that it will matter much. With so much already against Cuomo, including the investigation I mentioned earlier, there isn’t much between him and his career’s end. If MSNBC did one thing right as of late, it was to report a recent Marist poll showing that some 60% of New York believes Cuomo “did something unethical” with his pandemic handlings.

And numbers like that simply don’t just go away.
