On January 6, a small band of insurrectionists stormed the Capitol building during a Trump rally, causing destruction and even the loss of life. As it happened during a rally in favor of then-President Donald Trump, the political left claimed that Trump incited such violence and that his band of followers were all too willing to carry out his demands.

Naturally, this allowed leftist leaders like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to push the construction of a “wall” around the capitol, complete with chain link fencing, miles of razor wire, and some 25,000 National Guard troops.

However, since then, both the FBI and the Capitol Police Department have proved that those causing the destruction were part of extreme and radical groups on both the right and the left.

But that hasn’t lessened what Pelosi and her cohorts deem as a threat.

While the number of Guardsmen standing post around the capitol non-stop has been decreased to about 5,200, the wall of protection around the Capitol grounds still stands, making the entire area look more like a war zone than the place where government resides.

Why?

Well, because Pelosi says so.

According to a statement of hers on Thursday, “Between COVID… and all the president’s men out there, we have to ensure with our security that we are safe enough to do our job but not impeding.”

But as each new day passes and no other threats are either made or come to fruition, her reasoning looks less and less credible.

And one member of Congress is willing to call her out on it.

Republican Representative Lauren Boebert from Colorado is tired of the wall in D.C. and tired of Pelosi’s hypocrisy and demanding that it be torn down immediately.

She said in a recent video, “Here’s what I know: You protect what you love. President Trump built a big, beautiful wall because he loves America, and he wanted to secure our country and protect us from drugs, illegal aliens pouring into our communities and sex traffickers. Democrats, they fought him every step of the way.”

Boebert notes that time and time again, those like Pelosi, Schumer, and Biden decried the wall being built at our southern border, not caring if America was left unguarded and unprotected.

But at the first sign of danger in their place of their work, they raced to put in security measures such as razor-wire fencing, armed guards at every door, and even metal detectors at the entrance to the House Chambers.

As Boebert says, “Welcome to Fort Pelosi, where Democrats decry walls from within their own heavily guarded, razor-wire wall.”

The hypocrisy is glaring, and, as Boebert remarks, it shows precisely what the Democrats really care for…

“Democrats don’t want to protect you because they don’t care about you, but they’ll spare no expense protecting themselves… It’s time to cut the crap and remember that this is the people’s house.”

“Madam Speaker, tear down this wall.”

And she’s not wrong.

Since when do those who are supposed to be representing the people think they are more important and in more need of protection than the people themselves? Apparently, since the Democratic left took over.

The Constitution very clearly states that our government is designed to be for and by the people. It’s not meant to rule over them but to serve them.

But Pelosi and Biden, by erecting walls around themselves while at the same time demanding the deconstruction of the wall at our southern border, prove to all the world that they no longer think of themselves as part of the people.

Somehow, they think they are better.

No matter the perceived threat is non-existent. Then again, if I were as power-hungry and hypocritical as Pelosi and her friends, I’d be more than a bit paranoid too.

As The Washington Post reported, “On the day when former president Donald Trump’s most delusional supporters swore he would return to power – and the House suspended its business because of supposed threats to the U.S. Capitol – Washington looked on Thursday morning much the way it has for the past two months. National Guard members armed with M4 rifles braced for rebellion that never came. Razor wire lined miles of steel fencing that went unbreached. Trump remained in Florida, where it was 70 degrees and sunny.”

It’s high time that wall came down…
