Fact-checking has always been an essential part of journalism and the art of reporting the news. After all, who would believe a publication or source that lies all the time?

However, in the last four years, it seems that fact-checking efforts have increased tenfold – no doubt due to the political left and mainstream media’s insistence that former President Donald Trump did nothing but lie to the American people.

And while the movement did little to prove that Trump was, in fact, a liar, its continuance and use on other politicians has proved invaluable.

Take a recent use of it on none other than liberal darling and dementia prone President Joe Biden, for instance.

As you well know, Biden recently held his first-ever solo press conference, in which he talked about several things, including gun control and continued efforts to stem COVID-19. In addition, he spoke about a new election bill that was recently put into place in the key voting state of Georgia.

You may remember that that state has drawn much attention as of late, thanks to the controversy surrounding not one but two elections in the last six months. And that controversy has led many in the southern state to no longer hold our election process in respect or believe that it has much integrity.

State lawmakers are seeking to change that by altering a few regulations and requirements where voting is concerned, both at state and local levels.

And apparently, Biden and his fellow Washington Dems aren’t happy with the new law.

Rather than factually explaining what is wrong with the bill, Biden did what he always does and lied about what the bill includes – and on national TV, no less.

Now, even his usually liberal-friendly news outlets aren’t letting him get away with it.

On Tuesday, the left-wing Washington Post published a scathing report on just how non-factual Biden was on Georgia’s newly passed Senate Bill 202.

Biden told the American people that the new law would effectively restrict voting for working adults, make it a crime for voters waiting in line to get water, reduce the number of polling sites in “Black neighborhoods, and put “rigid restrictions” on absentee ballots.

He said, “What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It’s sick. It’s sick… deciding that you’re going to end voting at five o’clock when working people are just getting off work.”

And on Friday, during another statement, he reiterated this idea, saying, “Among the outrageous parts of this new state law, it ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over.”

But the Post wants to be sure you understand the facts here and not just whatever comes out of our president’s mouth.

They reported, “Many listeners might assume he was talking about voting on Election Day, not early voting. But Election Day hours were not changed.”

As Georgia Public Broadcasting pointed out, the bill actually expands voting hours but for early voting only.

“One of the biggest changes in the bill would expand early voting access for most counties, adding an additional mandatory Saturday and formally codifying Sunday voting hours as optional. Counties can have early voting open as long as 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., or 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at minimum.”

For those living in urban counties, you might not notice much of a change, as most cities already have longer voting hours already due to the sheer number of people. Both GPB and Business Insider remarked that rural areas would be where this change was seen the most. However, both rural and urban, thanks to the new mandatory Saturday, would get at least one additional weekend day for voting.

Doesn’t exactly sound all that restrictive for working people, does it?

As the Post said, “Not a single expert we consulted who has studied the law understood why Biden made this claim, as this was the section of the law that expanded early voting for many Georgians. Somehow Biden managed to turn that expansion into a restriction aimed at working people, calling it ‘among the outrageous parts’ of the law. There’s no evidence that is the case.”

Due to the complete falsehood given by Biden, The Post decided to give him four “Pinocchios” for lying to America, which is the worst rating on the scale.

And well deserved, I say. No president should be able to get away with lying to the American people.
